Who We Are

Andrew Coleman, artist & owner

An artist from a young age, Andrew first began woodworking as a high school student, building a prayer kneeler in a shop class. What began as a simple hobby quickly burgeoned upon the discovery of hand tools. After years of researching hand-carving and honing his skills, Andrew began to accept commissions from family and friends. Interest grew, and, in January 2021, Coleman’s Handcrafted was realized.

There is, in our day and age, a decline in Christian faith and morals, in both sacred and secular spheres. A metanoia, a great conversion, is necessary, not only within our hearts but throughout the whole world. In the parable of the talents (Mt 25:14-30), Our Lord challenges us to use the gifts He has given us for His greater glory.

Andrew is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and has been married to his wife, Ashley, since November 2016.

Ashley Coleman, manager

The business operations of Coleman’s Handcrafted are largely run by Ashley, maximizing Andrew’s ability to be creative in the shop. When not managing the home, she manages emails and invoices, keeps records, praises God for the CPA, maintains the social media presence, and writes the Coleman’s Handcrafted newsletter, The Whittler.
